Autumnal Wrapup

With fall beginning, I want to take the opportunity to clean out some older fall (and other) pictures.
This one is from the Cascade Brook in Franconia Notch in NH. This is from July 2005. Notice how the brook has a lot of rocks, but minimal water. The scene is quite differnet in the winter, when the brook freezes over, rocks and all. Its almost like crossing a crevasce. Vijay and I hiked over this on our way to Lonesome Lake in February of 2006.

In September of 2004, I went to Lake Placid for the NEARC GIS Conference. I was able to get out early in the morning to snap some pictures of the morning fog, and the sub-alpine glow of the morning sunrise against the fall colors.

This is not a self-portait, but of someone taking pictures of the same thing that I am. I thought it was nice to see the silhouette of the other photographer on the Lake Placid Beach, with the fog and colors.

A boathouse with the morning colors.

In fall of 2005, I went to Portland ME for another NEARC Conference. I was able to get the sunset sky with the Portland Headlight Lighthouse. This is one of my favorite pictures. So much so that I gave a framed print of it as a gift to certain friends and family members.

This is the Portland Headlight Lighthouse Keeper's residence, September 2005.
